Thomas D. McBride, president

Tom started Partners for Creative Solutions in 1999 to help businesses of all types make dramatic improvements in their performance and profitability.   Over the 28 years prior to starting PCS, he worked in a broad spectrum of industries engaged in the manufacture of custom-engineered products. These included nuclear pressure vessels, machine tools, circuit board drilling and assembly machines, custom automation, size-reduction (recycling) machinery, and specialty pumps for the chemical industry.

Tom served in a senior engineering management role in each of these industries prior to becoming Operations Manager for a major global supplier of custom-engineered pumps in the mid-1990’s.  Throughout his career he has led the charge to rid wastes that prevent client companies from optimizing their quality, customer service, or profitability.

Since starting PCS he has helped various organizations remove waste from their operations by implementing waste-elimination techniques such as lean, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance.  His seminars on lean manufacturing, waste reduction, kaizen events, and lean/six sigma for service have been sponsored by organizations such as the Central Massachusetts Employers’ Association, the Purchasing Managers’ Association of Boston, and Quinsigamond Community College ’s Training & Education Center .

Tom’s formal education includes a BSME from the University of Missouri-Rolla and an MBA from the University of Akron ( Ohio ).  He is Lean Bronze Certified by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers/Association for Manufacturing Excellence/Shingo Prize and is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.  He is registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio and is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the American Society for Quality, and the Northeast Kingdom Chamber of Commerce.
