Energy Cost Sample Projects

Problem: A medium-size capital equipment manufacturer needed to reduce energy costs to remain competitive.   Natural gas and electricity were costing more than $300,000 per year. 

Solution: Costs were analyzed to identify the largest opportunities.  Then a number of energy audits were arranged, and several fast-payback projects were initiated to improve the costs.  Among these were education of employees about conservation, upgrades of lighting, compressed air, heating systems and competitive bidding of gas contracts.

Results: Annual savings of $125,000-- more than 40%.
